Thinking
about a custom kitchen or bath project? This list of ideas will help you
get started…
Idea #1. What DON'T you like about your
current kitchen or bath?
Idea #2. Create a "wish list" for your new
kitchen or bath, and then number the items in order of importance.
Idea #3. What items (i.e.: cabinetry, flooring)
do you want to put the most money into?
Idea #4. If necessary, what items are you
willing to save $ on?
Idea #5. How much can you realistically afford
to spend? Setting a budget beforehand will make the planning process easier.
Idea #6. Are you working with a contractor or
are you acting as your own general contractor?
Idea #7. If you plan on making big changes to
your kitchen or bath, what functions or activities do you want to plan for in
this space? (i.e.: adding a fireplace, desk area or adding a table instead of
the current breakfast bar).
Idea #8. How will your family change over the
next few years? Will you become "empty nesters," or new parents?
Idea #9. Do you plan on selling your home in
the next couple of years or do you plan on retiring in it?
Idea #10. Are there major structural changes to
consider, such as moving a wall or window?
